AC and Refrigeration Service in Lebanon: Installation, Maintenance, and Gas

AC and Refrigeration Service in Lebanon: Installation, Maintenance, and Gas

From split units in apartments to chillers in offices, AC and refrigeration is one of the most common service categories in Lebanon. A clean, well-charged system uses less electricity — which matters when you're partially on generator.

Installation basics

  • BTU sizing should be based on room area, sun exposure, ceiling height, and insulation — not just floor space.
  • Copper line lengths should be kept as short as practical; longer runs lose efficiency.
  • Outdoor units need airflow and shade. A unit baking against a south wall will struggle in July.

Maintenance schedule

  • Clean indoor filters monthly during peak summer.
  • Professional service yearly — coil cleaning, drain check, gas pressure, electrical inspection.
  • If cooling drops, don't just add gas; ask the technician to find the leak first.

Gas types

Most modern units use R32 or R410A; older units use R22, which is being phased out globally. If your old unit needs a major repair, replacing with R32 is often more economical long term.

Choosing a contractor

  • Ask for a written quote that separates unit, installation, accessories, and gas.
  • Ask about warranty — and what voids it (lack of annual maintenance is a common exclusion).
  • For commercial spaces, request a maintenance contract with quarterly visits.
