Booking a Makeup Artist in Lebanon: A Bride's Practical Guide

Lebanon's makeup-artist scene is one of the most competitive in the region — Instagram has democratized exposure, and many talented freelancers now work alongside the established names. Wedding-day pricing varies wildly, and so does what you actually get.

Build a realistic shortlist

Start with portfolios that show real clients (not just models), in lighting similar to your venue. Look at unedited stories and reels, not only the polished feed. Ask for references from past brides — most artists are happy to share contacts.

What a trial should include

  • Full hair-and-makeup as planned for the day, with the actual lashes, foundation shade match, and finishing powder you'll use.
  • Photographs in multiple lights (natural by a window, indoor warm, with flash).
  • Honest discussion of longevity — what setting spray and touch-up routine you'll need.
  • Notes on what to adjust for the day itself.

Day-of logistics that bite people

Get the contract in writing: start time, end time, who else they're booked for that day, travel fees, overtime rate, deposit and balance schedule. Confirm whether the lead artist will personally do your makeup or a team assistant. Build in a 30-minute buffer before photography. Bring lipstick and powder for touch-ups; high-end artists provide a kit for you to keep.
