Luggage Stores in Lebanon: Cabin Cases, Suitcases, and Travel Warranties
AdvisorLB Team
Lebanese diaspora travel patterns mean luggage matters more than in most markets — a good suitcase survives 100+ flights. The major brands (Samsonite, Delsey, Tumi, Rimowa) all have authorized dealers in Beirut with regional warranty service. Lesser brands are cheaper but warranty becomes the store's problem alone.
Hard vs. Soft Shell
- Hard (polycarbonate, polypropylene): protects contents, scratches visible, lighter weight than you expect.
- Soft (ballistic nylon): expandable, exterior pockets, harder to scratch but tears can happen.
- Both can be premium; the brand and build matter more than material.
Cabin Sizes by Airline
- MEA cabin: 55x40x20 cm, 7kg.
- Lufthansa/AF/BA: 55x40x23, 8kg.
- Wizz/Ryanair (priority): 55x40x20, 10kg; without priority — much smaller.
- US carriers: 22x14x9 inches (56x36x23 cm), weight rarely checked.
- Buy to the strictest carrier you fly, not the most generous.
Warranty Reality
- Samsonite/Tumi/Rimowa: global warranty redeemable in Beirut authorized service.
- Delsey/American Tourister: regional warranty, parts available, response good.
- Off-brand: warranty is the store's promise — often verbal, no recourse if shop closes.
Price Bands (USD)
- Budget cabin: $30-80.
- Mid-tier (Delsey, American Tourister): $100-200.
- Premium (Samsonite, Travelpro): $200-400.
- Luxury (Tumi, Rimowa): $500-1,500.
