Printing Services in Lebanon: Choosing the Right Press for the Job
AdvisorLB Team
Print is far from dead in Lebanon — packaging, marketing collateral, wedding invitations, books, signage, and labels all keep large and small presses busy. Choosing the right printer for the job (and supplying files they can actually use) saves significant time and money.
Offset vs. digital — the rough rule
- Digital printing: best for small runs (1–500), variable data (named pieces), and quick turnaround. Color is excellent on modern machines.
- Offset printing: best for medium-to-large runs (500+), where per-unit cost drops dramatically. Setup cost is higher; per-unit cost is lower.
- Large-format / signage: own ecosystem of presses for posters, banners, vehicle wraps, and rigid signage.
Common products and what to ask
- Business cards: ask paper weight (350gsm+), finish (matte, gloss, soft-touch, spot UV), and if foil/embossing is an option.
- Flyers and brochures: 130–170gsm coated is standard; 250gsm+ for folded covers.
- Wedding invitations: wide range of stocks, foiling, letterpress; lead time can be weeks.
- Packaging: structural design, die cutting, food-safe inks — specialized printers only.
- Books: paper choice (uncoated for novels, coated for art books), binding (perfect bound, sewn, hardcover).
File preparation that saves headaches
- Supply CMYK files (not RGB) at 300 dpi minimum.
- Include 3 mm bleed on each side and keep critical content 5 mm inside the trim.
- Outline fonts in PDFs to avoid font substitution.
- Confirm Pantone colors if brand colors are critical.
- Ask for a printed proof on key projects — screen previews lie.
