Selecting a Moving Company for a Lebanon Move
AdvisorLB Team
Most moves in Lebanon are short-distance but logistically tricky: narrow stairwells, one-way streets and old elevators that can't fit a wardrobe. Picking the right mover is less about price than about what's included.
What to ask up front
- Did anyone come to survey the apartment, or is the quote based on a phone description? An on-site survey almost always produces a more accurate price.
- Is packing material (boxes, bubble wrap, tape) included or sold separately?
- Are disassembly / reassembly of beds, wardrobes and TV mounts included?
- What is the policy if a piece doesn't fit through the door — do they offer hoisting via the balcony, and at what extra cost?
- Is there transit insurance? What is the maximum per-item indemnity?
Documents the mover should provide
- A written quote with itemized pricing.
- A bilingual inventory list signed at pickup and at delivery.
- A receipt with VAT (if the mover is VAT-registered).
International moves
If you're shipping a container abroad, the carrier should arrange the customs paperwork at the Beirut port. Ask whether the quote is "door to door" or "door to port" — the difference is significant.
Day-of tips
Empty the fridge 24 hours before, label boxes by room, photograph furniture before disassembly, and keep cash, passports and medications in a single small bag that travels with you.
