Ski Rentals in Lebanon: Mzaar, Cedars, and Laklouk

Lebanon's main ski areas — Mzaar Kfardebian, Faraya, the Cedars, Laklouk, Zaarour, and Qanat Bakish — operate from late December to early April depending on snow. Rental shops at each resort handle skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, and clothing.

Rental categories

  • Beginner package: shorter, softer skis, comfortable boots, helmet.
  • Intermediate/sport: all-mountain skis with shaped tips.
  • Expert/off-piste: wider skis for fresh snow.
  • Snowboard: board, bindings, boots.
  • Clothing: jacket, pants, gloves — useful if you visit once a season.

Sizing tips

  • Ski length: chin to forehead height (shorter for beginners).
  • Boot size: street size; toes lightly touch when standing, retract when knees bend.
  • Helmet: snug, no rotation, chin strap one-finger gap.
  • Try boots in-store — wrong fit ruins the day.

Beirut rental shops (off-mountain)

  • Several Beirut shops rent for the whole season — cheaper if you go often.
  • Pick-up Friday, return Sunday is the typical weekend rental.
  • Tuning (sharpening + waxing) often included for season rentals.

Safety basics

  • Helmet always — not optional even for beginners.
  • Goggles, not sunglasses (UV at altitude).
  • Beginners: take a 2-hour lesson before pushing slopes.
  • Check lift status before driving — Mzaar publishes real-time updates.
