Storage Services in Lebanon: Self-Storage, Warehousing, and Movers Combo
AdvisorLB Team
Demand for storage grew after 2019 — families consolidating, emigrating temporarily, or renovating across multiple stages. Two models exist: self-storage (you have a key, 24/7 access) and warehousing (provider handles pickup, storage, return).
Self-Storage
- Sizes: 1m² locker, 3m² small (single room), 6m² (studio), 12m² (2-bed apartment), 25m² (house).
- Pricing per m²/month: $15-40 depending on climate control and location.
- 24/7 keypad access, CCTV, fire suppression.
- You pack and load — provider does not handle items.
Full-Service Warehousing
- Provider sends crew, packs, loads, transports, stores in their warehouse.
- Inventory list with photo of each numbered carton.
- Retrieval on 24-48h notice.
- More expensive but ideal for diaspora storing while abroad.
Climate Control
- Books, photos, electronics, leather, instruments — need climate control (20-25°C, 50-60% RH).
- Furniture, metal tools, ceramics — standard storage is fine.
- Lebanese summers reach 35°C in non-climate units — paper warps, leather molds.
Insurance
- Facility coverage is usually building-only.
- Add contents insurance ($30-100/year per $10,000 declared value).
- Photograph every item before storing; keep itemized list.
Red-Flag Clauses
- Automatic auction after 60 days of missed payment — confirm 90+ days grace.
- Annual price increase ratchet without cap.
- No emergency contact for water leaks or pest issues.
- Owner has unilateral right to enter unit — illegal in most contracts but verify.
