- Source code escrow for long-term engagements.
- Non-disclosure with named individuals, not just the entity.
- Retention rights — you can hire individual contributors after engagement ends (or pay a buy-out fee).
- Defined sprint cadence, demos, and acceptance criteria — no "delivered when ready" terms.
