Tech Companies in Lebanon: Software Development and IT Services

Beirut had a strong tech industry before 2019 — engineering schools graduated highly skilled developers, and several startups exited successfully. Post-2020 the diaspora absorbed much of the senior talent. What remains is a smaller, more specialized industry with day rates that have realigned with global market levels.

Service Categories

  • Custom web/mobile development: React/Next.js/Flutter, full-stack teams.
  • Enterprise integration: ERP customization (Odoo, SAP B1), API work.
  • Data & AI: ML model deployment, analytics dashboards, fine-tuning.
  • Managed IT services: network, security, helpdesk, cloud ops.
  • Cybersecurity: pen-testing, SOC, compliance.

Day Rates (USD, indicative)

  • Junior dev: $150-250/day.
  • Mid-level: $300-500/day.
  • Senior/tech lead: $500-900/day.
  • Specialized (security, ML): $700-1,500/day.

How to Vet

  • Code samples from past projects (with client permission).
  • Live technical interview — short coding task or architecture discussion.
  • References from 2+ past clients with similar scope.
  • Visit the office — distributed remote shops have different dynamics than co-located teams.

Contract Must-Haves

  • IP assignment — code belongs to the client on payment.
  • Source code escrow for long-term engagements.
  • Non-disclosure with named individuals, not just the entity.
  • Retention rights — you can hire individual contributors after engagement ends (or pay a buy-out fee).
  • Defined sprint cadence, demos, and acceptance criteria — no "delivered when ready" terms.
