Tile Stores in Lebanon: Porcelain, Ceramic, and Stone for Every Room

Lebanese tile showrooms carry an enormous range — from local production to imports from Italy, Spain, Turkey, and the UAE. Knowing a few technical terms will save you from picking the wrong material for the wrong room.

Porcelain vs. ceramic

Porcelain is denser, harder, and absorbs less water — ideal for wet zones, balconies, and high-traffic floors. Ceramic is lighter, cheaper, and great for walls and lower-traffic floors.

Key specs to ask about

  • PEI rating (1–5): abrasion resistance for floor tiles. Aim for 3+ in residential, 4+ in commercial.
  • R-rating / slip resistance: R10–R11 for bathrooms and balconies, R9 acceptable indoors.
  • Water absorption: below 0.5% for true porcelain.
  • Rectified edges: allow thinner grout lines and a more contemporary look.

Room-by-room suggestions

  • Bathrooms: matte, slip-resistant floor tile + glossy wall tile is a classic mix.
  • Kitchens: large-format porcelain hides grout lines and is easy to clean.
  • Balconies: outdoor-rated, frost-aware porcelain with R11 slip rating.
  • Hallways: wood-look porcelain planks if you want a warm look with tile durability.

Buying tips

  • Order 10% extra. Re-orders from a different batch rarely match.
  • Confirm full delivery date — large-format porcelain can be back-ordered.
  • Check what is included: tile only, or tile + adhesive + grout?
