Water Sports in Lebanon: Jet Ski, Wakeboard, Sailing, and Flyboard
AdvisorLB Team
The Lebanese coast from Tabarja to Tyre is dotted with beach clubs, marinas, and water sports operators. Most run from late May to late October. Activities cluster around the summer weekends but many operators take bookings on weekdays at lower rates.
Activities on offer
- Jet ski: usually 30-minute rentals; instructor-supervised or self-driven if licensed.
- Wakeboard, water ski, kneeboard: behind a tow boat with cable or rope.
- Banana boat, ringo, donut: towed inflatables for groups.
- Flyboard: water-jet pack flying — short sessions, high impact.
- Sailing: dinghy rentals and skippered cruises from Beirut and Jounieh.
- SUP (stand-up paddle): the calmest, most beginner-friendly option.
Safety basics
- Life jackets are mandatory on motorised activities — never skip them.
- Briefings cover dead-man switches, return signals, and no-go zones.
- Operators must respect 300 m no-fly/no-jet zones from swimmers.
- Children typically need a parent on a tandem ride.
Practical tips
- Book mornings — wind picks up in the afternoon.
- Use reef-safe sunscreen on the water.
- Confirm insurance is included in the rental price.
- Bring a waterproof phone pouch — many operators don't lock valuables.
