Welding Services in Lebanon: Structural, Stainless, and Aluminum Work
AdvisorLB Team
Welding is a craft — two welders looking at the same job will produce very different results. The right process depends on the metal (steel, stainless, aluminum) and the application (structural, decorative, food-grade, pressure vessel).
Welding Processes
- Stick (SMAW): cheap, portable, ugly bead — for site repairs, structural, rough work.
- MIG (GMAW): fast, clean, common — for sheet metal, body, general fabrication.
- TIG (GTAW): precise, beautiful, slow — for stainless, aluminum, exposed welds.
- Flux core: outdoor-friendly, no gas — for site work in wind.
Common Lebanese Jobs
- Iron gates and railings (decorative + structural).
- Steel stairs and balconies — must be engineered for load.
- Stainless kitchen counters, washbasins, hoods — TIG only.
- Aluminum boats, motorcycle frames — TIG/MIG with argon.
- Pipe welding (gas, water, steam) — certified welders required by code.
When to Demand Certified Welders
- Pressure vessels, boilers, gas lines.
- Structural steel for buildings (engineer-stamped drawings).
- Food-grade stainless (HACCP audits will check).
- Lifting equipment (cranes, hoists).
Quality Checks
- Visual: even bead, no porosity, no undercut, no spatter on finish surfaces.
- Penetration test: dye penetrant for cracks.
- X-ray or ultrasonic for critical pipe joints (code projects).
- Galvanize or paint after welding for outdoor steel.
